A Super Sunday... Currently, Sales, and Socials

Ohmygosh – I can’t believe it is already February 3rd and I haven’t posted my Currently.  I am so sorry Farley – I love you and can’t believe that it has taken me so long!  My mind has been racing with so many other things lately and I am looking forward to a break!

So, here is my February (so far!)…

And – it is Super Bowl Sunday!!  Woohoo – nothing like a good football game in the house!!  I love today – it’s a perfect reason for a buffet of snack foods and an excuse for me to yell at the television!  Yayy!

But, best of all, are the discounts I can save in my Teachers Pay Teachers cart.  I am so excited!!  I have about 10 things that I have been holding off on purchasing knowing I could scoop up some savings today… You’re Welcome Mr. Realistic (Not that he was listening/reading!)… but I’ll remind him when he sees the bill – ha!

Anywho – head over to my store and pick up some goodies at 28% off.  Use the promo code SUPER.

And, time for a Sunday Social with Ashley and Neely… another favorite link up!!

Sunday Social

This week’s Questions:

1. If you were stuck on an island what are the two material items you would want to have?

My laptop (I would still need to blog, right?!) and an unlimited supply of Girl Scout cookies.  Blogging with a sugar high – yep, that’s the life!

2. What are two TV shows you’d watch over and over?

The Big Bang Theory & 2 Broke Girls

3. If your house was on fire what two things aside from family, pets, etc would you grab?

Okay, don’t judge….my teacher bag. I know, seriously, but I have a ton of stuff in that important tote. It would save tons of planning and my phone is there so I would have EVERYTHING.  And my second thing would be my laptop.

4. What are your two most favorite articles of clothing?

Okay – let’s just get this clear – I don’t wear them together!!  My yoga pants – a girls needs to be comfortable – and my Dansko shoes.  Yes, true shoe lust!!

5. What two movies that you saw in the past year would you recommend to us?

We are not huge movie goers.  I love to watch a good movie – but usually we watch them here in Realisticville.  So, I’m going with The Hunger Games.  It was amazing, but the book was better in my opinion.

6. What are your two biggest guilty pleasures?

Chick-fil-a and reality TV

Have a Super Sunday friends!!

Sunday Super Sale & A Pinteresting Wednesday

I wanted to share some great news!! Teachers PayTeachers is having a Sunday Super Sale!  You can get products for 28% off the original prices!  Those are great savings!  You know I can’t pass up a sale – so my wishlist is cram packed with products to purchase on Sunday!  I can’t wait!

Make sure you head on over to my store and add some items to your wishlist to buy on Sunday.

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for  The Vintage Apple's Oh, how Pinteresting!! I love today, I get so many great ideas from each of you!!

After last week, I’ve cleaned up my boards and rearranged a lot of things. I’m so excited to say I cleaned my Pinterest boards.  It’s like reorganizing your cabinets!!

So, here are some of my favorites this week…

To keep in mind...

Thinking I can do this during my “weather unit” because it is adorable!!

This looks delicious, but I am sure the calories would be off the chart! Delicious!

I just love wild weather!!!

Reading LOVE!!

Love the colors - might be a new spring look!!

Not too much teaching related again this week - but yes, there is another side of me.

Have an amazing Wednesday peeps!

Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday and a Sale!!

If you’re like me, you are a Pinterest fanatic!! I love searching through Pinterest and finding great ideas, reading inspirational quotes, a joke or two (or a million more). Yes, I am also an e-card addict!!!

I am so obsessed that have a “personal” Pinterest account, and a "teacher" Pinterest account. All this pinning drives Mr. Realistic crazy and he says I’m obsessed – of course, he’s right! Shhh…don’t let him know I said that :)

Anywho – I am linking up with The Vintage Apple again for some of my favorite pins this week!

Here are a few holiday favorites:

And a few funnies:

A glimpse of how I sometimes feel in my classroom:

And one cool picture:

I'm also linking up with First Grade and Fabulous (along with some other great bloggers) and having a sale.  My store will be 20% off through Friday.

Have a great Wednesday!  Smooches!

Tremendous Tuesday

I am linking up with Sweet Tea Classroom and her TpT Best Sellers and Cyber Monday (and Tuesday) Sale.  I know, I know, you probably already know about the TpT sale…who doesn’t, right!?

Sweet Tea Classroom

My best seller is The Giver novel study. This was one of my favorite books to teach in the classroom.  If you haven't read The Giver, it is a MUST read!!  Please read it yourself before reading it with your class - I recommend this with all books, but especially books that can be sensitive in the classroom. This is not a book that I have the opportunity to read with my students now, but when I taught 7th grade it was my favorite novel to teach!!

Right now many sellers (including myself) are focusing on their seasonal products; but there are some other great products out there as well!! Here are some great featured products that you might want to explore for your classroom:

It's Time to go Back, 5 for Five & a Manic Monday Freebie

I can’t believe this is my last Monday of track out! I head back to school for work days on Thursday and Friday and haven’t done any lesson planning! My teaching bag is still where I put it 3 weeks ago. If I don’t get in gear soon I won’t be ready next Monday when my kiddos come back! Ugh!

One of the downfalls of year-round is all the moving. It sounds like it should be easy – the kids move their own materials into storage cubbies and then into our new classroom cubbies. But hanging up all the materials and arranging the room is a nightmare! And, to do it every 9 weeks is stretching me way too thin; especially, when I like everything a certain way.

Thank goodness it is 5 for Five Monday - another way to make sure I get through my list this week!!  Jenn & Jessica help me stay motivated throughout the week!

Here is how last week turned out:

1.  Check out a new non-teaching book – and READ it!  Check – done! I actually started and finished Silent No More: Victim 1’s Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky.  I know controversial – but it was on my to read list and I am so glad that I did.

2.  Get Oldest Realistic his new phone – check done! He is thrilled to have the new iPhone 5 and this momma is thrilled to have it done. Now he can facetime his Nana & Papa and I can get my twice-weekly scheduled calls.  Yes – I am limited because I have helicopter hovering parent syndrome. I would be on the phone with him 3 times a day if I could!

3.  Get to the gym twice this week – sadly, I didn’t meet this goal (again) this week!  I made it to my Monday zumba, but that was it…this week for sure!! I’ve realized how difficult it is to go to the gym when your schedule changes.

4.  Continue to grow my little slice of cyberspace – check done!  I completed the 3 post minimum that I set for myself and am so thrilled that I continue to grow.

5.  Take time to enjoy my family and friends – check done!I spent some much needed time with my boys and Mr. Realistic.  We enjoyed Thanksgiving together and had a nice evening with Oldest and his girlfriend.  Ahhh…young love – they are so cute!!

4 out of 5 isn’t bad, but I am really going for the gold this week and am going to meet my challenge head on!!

This week’s goals…

1.  Lesson plan for the next two weeks.  Yes, the second week will be just a rough sketch, but at least get it formatted and saved on my flashdrive.

2.  Hit the gym three times this week.  No more excuses!!

3.  Start decorating for Christmas – even if it is just brining the boxes into the living room…

4.  Paint more clothes pins for our behavior chart.

5.  Have my classroom set up and arranged before next Monday morning – that may mean staying on Friday until 6:00, but it must be done!!

Yayyyy!! It’s Manic Monday again! I am keeping up and have your freebie on time today!! Go me!! Here is a freebie that will help you get through December!

Now – I’m off to TpT to finish my shopping!! Don’t forget you can get 28% off my store today and tomorrow!

Cyber Monday & My Favorite Things

I am so excited – next Monday and Tuesday is the Cyber Monday and Tuesday TpT Sale!! That is up to 28% off most stores!!

Here is how it works – most stores are already offering 20% off.  If you enter promo code CMT12 you receive an additional 10% off.  That makes it –  forgive me because I’m not a math major, but I do know that 20+10 is 30 – 28% off the regular price.

Here is the real break down because, like I said, I'm no math major – I needed remediation! You get 20% off the price, so if you have a product for $3.00 – you are paying $2.40.  And then you take 10% off the $2.40 – you are now paying $2.16.

Shut the front door! Like my Dad always says, “that’s almost free!”  This Daddy’s girl can’t pass up anything that is “almost” free – you can double check with Mr. Realistic or VISA for verification!

I’m also linking up with The Hands on Teacher in First.  Did you really think I would pass up a party this close to the holidays – not a chance!!

One of my favorite things to do in our class this time of the year is Holidays & Traditions around the World.  Now, I can’t remember where our grade-level gathered ALL of our materials – we have a metric TON – but I that some of what we use came from Christina Bainbridge’s Christmas Around the World (yes, I’m a HUGE fan!!) and her adorable Christmas Around the World Scrapbook freebie on TpT!! One of my all time favorites! We switch classes for writing so we implement this in during our writing time!! Yayyy!! It means I get to do more fun stuff with my kiddo’s in addition to the other projects we do this time of year.

This probably goes without saying because I think everyone loves The Grinch!

The Nutcracker– it’s a long story and I won’t retell it – but if you’re curious, check out my Nutcracker post!

Reindeer!!  I love the book Olive, the Other Reindeer!!

Gingerbread

Okay – seriously?! I could go on forever & I know you don’t have that much time!! I’ve covered a ton of school favorites & I won’t even get into my personal favorites list, no one has time for that!

Enjoy your Turkey Day tomorrow all!  I know I will be snuggled up sitting next to my boys and enjoying some family time!!

Love, peace & chicken turkey grease! ~Realistic
